Episode transcripts

All dialogue and transcript text comes from chakoteya.net — a remarkable archive of Star Trek transcripts maintained by fans. We are grateful for that resource. Transcripts are reproduced here for reference and educational purposes only.

Episode metadata

Air dates, writers, directors and viewership figures were compiled from Wikipedia.

Episode summaries

The per-episode AI summaries (themes, key events, places, species, technology, moral dilemmas) were generated with the help of large language models, based on the transcript text. They are fan-written aids and may contain errors or omissions.

Semantic search

The "search by meaning" feature uses embeddings provided by Voyage AI (voyage-4) and pgvector on PostgreSQL.

Built with

Deno and Oak on the backend, PostgreSQL + pgvector for the database, and plain JavaScript, HTML and CSS on the frontend — no frameworks, no trackers.
